Great music, awesome vendors, AND amazing food!! That’s what I like about a street fest—and this one’s got it goin’ on.
One of Chicago’s best festivals!! I really enjoyed the food, the music, the people watching, and the red sangria.
Denver Live on the Rocks
The Denver Live on the Rocks Stage is returning to Taste of Randolph! Last year, thousands of fans at Taste of Randolph enjoyed amazing music all weekend long between the two wings of a jaw-dropping replica of Red Rocks Amphitheater, Denver’s world-famous outdoor venue, consistently named as one of the top music venues in the world.
Standing 76 feet long and up to 30 feet tall, the walls are hand-carved and hand-painted to resemble Red Rocks’ sandstone, something that truly has to be seen to be believed. Dance to some of your favorite bands, and experience what it feels like to be in the world’s best outdoor amphitheater before coming to Denver and experiencing it yourself. Check out last year’s video and photos below to see what it was like!
Red Rocks: A Brief History
The world’s only acoustically perfect, naturally occurring amphitheater is part of a local geologic feature that pushed itself up some 300 million years ago. The site’s signature features are the Ship Rock and Creation Rock monoliths. Behind the stage area is another formation that bounces sound back up into the seating area, creating Red Rocks’ famed sound.
More recently, Red Rocks has been hosting music events since the early 1900s, including opera and classical performances, until the Civilian Conservation Corps installed the first permanent seating in 1941.
Over those 76 years, the 9,500-seat venue has hosted everyone from the Beatles to the Grateful Dead and has seen iconic concerts like U2’s “Under a Blood Red Sky” video and, more recently, Mumford & Sons’ “Road to Red Rocks”. The venue now hosts more than 130 shows per year along with movies, fitness classes and a famed Easter sunrise service.
Why is Denver coming to Chicago?
Chicago and Denver share a lot of similarities, and many people travel between the two cities. So VISIT DENVER will bring The Mile High City’s tunes, urban adventure and outdoor spirit to Taste of Randolph with Denver Live on the Rocks.
Denver, recently named the #1 place to live by US News & World Report, has quickly become a top vacation destination in its own right with chef-driven dining and a thriving cultural scene that includes major museums and charming neighborhood art districts. Denver also ranks as the best beer city in the country, as named recently by CNN.com, with more than 50 craft breweries in the city and more than 100 in the metro area.
