Andersonville Midsommarfest
is one of the region's most eagerly anticipated and well established
summer festivals. Each year approximately 50,000 people gather on
Clark Street to enjoy great international food, stellar family activities,
lively entertainment on four stages, and over 100 quality artisans
showcasing their wares.
Midsommarfest is one of Chicago’s most unique street fairs. Born out of Andersonville's Swedish heritage, Midsommarfest retains its quaint, international flavor. Old-world Swedish traditions, including a festive dance around the Maypole, are incorporated into an unrivaled array of entertainment for families and adults.
A special family area includes face painting, games and a family stage with entertainment such as Little Nashville, Nordic Folk dancers, the Barefoot Hawaiian Dancers, a pet parade and much more. The other three stages are filled all day with spirited music, including nationally- renowned acts, guaranteed to get the crowd dancing.
The quaint little Swedish "village" of Andersonville features some of Chicago's most intriguing shops and a wonderful array of international eateries. Famous restaurants involved include Reza’s, Andies, Wickstroms Calo, and many more!
The 43rd Annual Midsommarfest will take place in the heart of Andersonville on Saturday and Sunday, June 14th & 15th from 11:00 AM until 10:00 PM.

USA Basketball Red, White and Hoops Tour
presented by State Farm™
The USA Basketball Red, White and Hoops Tour presented by State Farm™ is traveling almost 5,000 road miles across America this Summer uniting basketball fans of all ages. The Tour creates an opportunity for fans to show their love of the game and support for the USA Basketball Men’s and Women’s Senior National Teams as they look to compete in China this summer.
Fans can compete on Center Court in free-throw and 3-point shooting challenges for USA Basketball collectible merchandise. For those who think their dunks are a perfect “10”, there’s the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest. Fans of all ages can play the State Farm® Pop-A-Shot where you can be a winner, compete in a game of knockout in the Chevy Challenge or can face off against each other on the latest video games in the EA SPORTS Video Arcade. Reminisce as you watch highlights on a 50” flat screen from past USA Basketball games. For fans who want to know what it takes to be a USA Basketball player, they can measure their height, hand & shoe size to life-size replicas of some of the biggest names in basketball at the Measure Up, Walk-of-Fame and Get-A-Grip interactive displays.
As a show of support for Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Dwight Howard, Lisa Leslie, Sue Bird, Diana Taurasi and other USA Basketball Team Members, fans can send a personal message to them on an oversized ‘Good Luck’ card that will be presented to the Men’s & Women’s Senior National Teams before they depart for China.
