Any way you slice it, visitors can expect to have bushels of fun at the 16th Annual Long Grove Apple Fest, on October 3rd, 4th and 5th. Celebrate fall’s favorite fruit and the many delicious ways to enjoy it – from Long Grove’s famous brown bag apple pies and apple cider donuts to hot apple cider, caramel apple lattes, apple martinis, and more!
Village restaurants and outdoor food booths will carry a wide range of apple-inspired treats, including the very popular “make your own taffy apple" booths. Visitors will enjoy outdoor ambiance and the many activities staged throughout the historic village.
The lineup of great entertainment on the stage in Fountain Square and at the Covered Bridge will include folk, bluegrass, country, rock, and jazz throughout the three-day weekend and will “a-peel” to festivalgoers of all ages. The Apple Jam Kids' Expo will include activities and informational booths for children and their parents. Pony rides, kiddy rides, and a kids’ craft tent will provide fun for all ages.
Scarecrow Contest – Scarecrows are symbolic of the harvest season, and throughout the month of September Long Grove shops will be creating and displaying their own versions of the age-old scarecrow. Visitors at AppleFest will help select Long Grove’s best scarecrow by voting for their favorite entry. Pick up your ballot, cast your vote, and your name will be entered in a drawing for prizes. Vote at Welcome Tent for your favorite & enter to win a prize!
Visitors to Long Grove will also enjoy more than 80 trendy shops, boutiques, galleries, and restaurants in a beautiful old-world setting of historic buildings, cobblestone walks, colorful gardens, and the landmark covered bridge. Long Grove is located in the northern suburbs, near Routes 53 and 83, north of Lake Cook Road. Got talent?! Visit the Fountain Square Stage where John Casablancas Modeling and Career Centers is giving away a free photo shoot! John Casablancas will be hanging out near the stage all day looking for new faces ages four and up.
